Artist's Description
This was an incredible night along the western shore of the Schoodic Peninsula in Acadia National Park. The electric blue glow in the water is bioluminescense or phosphorescense, a naturally occuring phenomenon. I started to notice it in the twilight after the sun had set. At first, I thought I was setting reflections from the stars and milky way, but as the night got darker, the lights grew brighter. A long exposure revealved the brilliant electic blue-green color. Incredible!
